The Solidarity movment is gravely concerned by the wave of anti-democratic legislative initiatives which are being advanced in the Knesset. We intend to fight this legislation which violates the basic rights of free speech, freedom of conscience and the right to protest - such as the proposed law prohibiting Israeli citizens from calling for economic sanctions against Israeli institutions in Israel and the occupied territories. 

We are determined to fight the growing tide of fascism within our society that these proposals represent, and so, as an act of civil disobedience, we are calling on our supporters, as well as on all Israeli citizens to sign the following petition. 

Call for Settlements’ Boycott

We are calling upon the public to join the Palestinian boycott of settlement products; to boycott Israeli companies that operate in occupied Palestinian land and in East Jerusalem and profit from the Israeli occupation, to divest of these companies, and to abstain from business transactions with them and from the purchase of their products.

The settlements are not only a crime against the Palestinian people, but are a threat to the Israeli public interest.

The promotion of the law that makes calling for boycotts a crime forces us not only to boycott settlement products as individuals, but to publicly call for such a boycott. Public violation is a necessary response to an anti-democratic law; civil disobedience is the only recourse to the repression of freedom of conscience and free speech.

We hope that the law prohibiting boycott advocacy will be checked; however, if it is passed, we are ready to be tried for violating this anti-democratic legislation.
