מחזירים את החיים לבעלי החיים

יש כאלה שכלואים בסגר כל החיים. 

דווקא עכשיו אחרי שחווינו את הקושי והתסכול בסגר שנכפה עלינו, אסור לנו לעצום עיניים ולהתעלם מאלו שזקוקים לנו ותלויים בחסדינו- פינת החי-בר בפארק הירקון באיזור בבלי היא לא אחרת מהתעללות!

לאלו מכם שלא מכירים- בפארק הירקון באיזור בבלי מוצב כלוב אפל ועגום, המציג לראווה מנים שונים של חיות בר אומללות שמעולם לא היו בוחרות לחלוק את המרחב שלהן בצורה כזו לא טבעית ואכזרית אלמלא נכפה עליהן הדבר על-ידי עיריית תל-אביב.

יעלים, צביים, יענים, אווזים, תרנגולי הודו, ברווזים ותרנגולות, כולם נדחקים לכלוב עלוב בו הם מנסים לשרוד בתנאים העצובים והקשים ביותר. חלקם פצועים ומוזנחים וכולם ללא יוצא דופן אומללים ועצובים. מספיק מבט אחד לעינייהם הטהורות בשביל לראות ולהרגיש כיצד הם משוועים לעזרה.

עיריית תל-אביב שמתהדרת בקידמה ובחופש שהיא מאפשרת צריכה להתבייש שכזה מונומנט של צער וכאב הוא פרי יצירתה ואחריותה. 

זה הזמן להציל אותם ולדרוש מעיריית תל-אביב שתחדול את הקרקס חסר הלב הזה ותשיב אותם למקומם הטבעי, ואלו שאינם יכולים להשתלב בטבע יזכו למקום ראוי והולם המאפשר להם מרחב מחיה.

בואו נחזיר לבעלי החיים את החיים ונחזיר להם את החופש והכבוד המגיע להם.

There are those who are confined in lockdown for life.

Now that we have experienced the anguish of feeling imprisoned in a forced lockdown, we can no longer shield our eyes from the voiceless victims held captive in our own neighborhood. The “Animal Corner” in the Bavli area of HaYarkon Park is a shameful display of neglect and animal abuse that should be shut down. We can no longer ignore the living beings held captive there who require our compassion and advocacy.

For those of you who are unfamiliar: a small gloomy cage sits within HaYarkon Park, confining various species of miserable wildlife that would have never chosen to share space with each other. Their captivity is cruel and unnatural as it is – even more disgraceful is that some have injuries that have gone untreated.

Goats, deer, emus, wild geese, turkeys, ducks, chickens – all crammed into a small metal enclosure with barbed wire atop, confused, traumatized, and suffering under stressful and depressing conditions. Those who are wounded with untreated physical injuries endure a particularly agonizing ordeal. One look into their pure eyes reveals the degree of their torment and their plea for our help.

The City of Tel Aviv (which prides itself on its progressiveness and forward-thinking) should be ashamed and disgraced by this monument of cruelty and the miseducation of animal rights & welfare it perpetuates.

It is time to intervene on behalf of these animals and demand the city of Tel Aviv end this heartless display of cruelty by surrendering all the animals to the appropriate wildlife sanctuaries and rehabilitation centers, allowing them to live out their days in suitable environments that don’t go against their nature.

Let us restore these animals their rights, their lives, their freedom, and the dignity they deserve.
