Multipurpose field in Modi'in

WHEREAS Modi’in is a city of over 80,000 residents, many of whom are youths or adults who participate or want to join in sports that are widespread in English-speaking countries and are gaining popularity in Israel,

AND WHEREAS there is currently no field capable of properly hosting sports such as American football, baseball, cricket, lacrosse, netball, rugby and softball,

AND WHEREAS as a result many Modi’in residents are forced to play in makeshift facilities or out of town, even when their teams are officially named after the city,

AND WHEREAS the organizations supervising these sports in Israel are committed to contributing resources, equipment and personnel to develop these sports once a proper facility is in place in Modi’in, and councilman Baruch Bochnik has taken the initiative to rally municipal support for this project,

WE THE UNDERSIGNED ENCOURAGE the municipality with this proposal for a multipurpose sport field to bolster and continue its record of developing recreational options suited to the city’s varied population, including physically challenged residents. By combining private and public resources, we, the residents of Modi'in and their supporters, seek to assist the mayor and chairman of the Modi’in Development Corporation in advancing this project, and in incorporating it into the municipality’s varied network of recreational options.
