להציל את השמשופ - Save the Shemeshop

הצטערנו לשמוע על סגירתה הצפויה של השמשופ, אחד ממפעלי החסד של עמותת למען אחי, וזאת עקב הצרת צעדיהם על ידי הנהלת המתנס והעומדים בראשה, סגן ראש העיר ויו"ר הנהלת המתנס שמוליק גרינברג ומנכ"ל הרשת המקומית, עמית קדמון כפי שיפורט בהמשך.

השמשופ הינו מיזם שכל כולו חסד אשר משרת את כל גווני האוכלוסיה בבית שמש. כמה אירוני כי שבועות ספורים לאחר מיתוגו מחדש של מתנס רמת בית שמש כמרכז קהילתי המשרת את כל גווני האוכלוסיה, והסבת שמו ל"מתנס גוונים" ,אחד מצעדיו הראשונים הינו להביא לסגירת השמשופ המשרת באמת ובתמים את כל גווני האוכלוסיה.

אנחנו תושבי העיר בית שמש קוראים להנהלת המתנס ולמר שמואל גרינברג סגן ראש העיר, העומד בראש ההנהלה, לשקול מחדש את החלטותיה (פינוי מחסני השמשופ, והעלאה משמעותית של דמי השכירות לשטח הנותר) ובכך להוכיח כי השם גוונים אינו רק קישוט אלא גם מהות במתנס רמת בית שמש.

The Shemeshop thrift shop in the Ramat Beit Shemesh matnas, a project of Lema'an Achai, serves the entire population of Beit Shemesh, providing a much-needed service. Due to decisions made by Deputy Mayor Shmuel Greenberg and the director of the local matnasim, Amit Kadmon, Lema'an Achai has announced that it has no choice but to close the Shemeshop.

It is quite ironic that just a few weeks after the RBS matnas was re-branded in order to reflect its desire to serve all sectors of the population of the city, one of the first steps taken was to force out the Shemeshop, a project that is a perfect example of how to serve the entire spectrum of the Beit Shemesh population.

We, the undersigned residents of Beit Shemesh, call upon the board of directors of the matnas. and its chairman Shmuel Greenberg, to reconsider its decision to take away the storage space used by the Shemeshop and sharply raise the rent charged for the remaining space. This will allow Shemeshop to remain open, and will demonstrate that the RBS matnas indeed intends to serve the needs of the entire population of the city.
