Young couples are forced to sign brokerage contracts they didn’t choose. They pay tens of thousands of shekels, even for one or two short meetings. Sellers pay nothing, so the entire burden falls on the buyers. Most couples need a loan just to pay the broker – and then pay interest on that loan for decades. Agents hide the seller’s contact details, so the couple can’t negotiate the price directly. Even if a discount is reached, the broker still demands commission based on the original price – not the final deal.
