קידום משחקי מחשב ישראליים

ישראל מובילה בתחומי בידור רבים. בין אם זה אפליקציות רבות שסוחפות את העולם, או תעשיית קולנוע שמייצרת סרטים שמבקרים מהוללים בכל רחבי העולם, או סדרות שמקבלות עיבוד לסדרות ברשתות כמו HBO וSHOWTIME, ישראל היא ענקית ביחס לגודלה.

Israel is a global leader in many areas of entertainment. Whether it's a multitude of applications that have worldwide appeal, a film industry that produces movies that are praised by critics all over the world, or television series that have been adapted to English by cable networks such as HBO or Showtime, Israel is a giant when compared to its size.

תחום שחסר, הוא תחום משחקי המחשב. הוא תחום כלל עולמי עם חברות כמו CD Projekt Red הפולנית וUbisoft הצרפתית, וכמובן ענקיות המשחקים ביפן וארה"ב. דווקא בתחום הכי טכנולוגי, שבו ישראל מצטיינת עולמית, חסר לישראל מפתחים גדולים. מפתחי משחקים ישראליים כן קיימים, אבל עובדים בחברות גדולות כגון Electronic Arts וBlizzard. אנחנו מבקשים ממשרד התרבות לתת את אותה תמיכה שמעניקים לסרטים ולטלוויזיה לתחום משחקי המחשב, בו אנחנו מסוגלים לשגשג – ובגדול.

An area where we lack presence is the PC gaming field. It is a truly global field with companies such as the Polish CD Projekt Red or the French Ubisoft competing with the American and Japanese giants. Israeli video game developers do exist, but work for larger companies such as Electronic Arts and Blizzard. We ask the Culture Department to grant the same support they grant films and television to video gaming.
